Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chef Manager to lead our school kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality food production in a fast-paced environment. The Chef Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, managing food preparation, and upholding the organisation’s reputation for excellence in hospitality.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes.
Manage food preparation and cooking activities, maintaining high standards of presentation and taste.
Implement and monitor food safety procedures in compliance with health regulations.
Coordinate staff schedules, assign tasks, and provide training to optimise team performance.
Ensure proper stock control, inventory management, and ordering of supplies.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times.
Collaborate with other departments to deliver seamless service to guests or clients.
Assist in menu planning and development to reflect current trends and customer preferences.
Uphold organisational standards for hospitality, serving excellence, and customer satisfaction.

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen or hospitality setting.
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail in food safety practices.
Experience in restaurant or large-scale catering environments is highly desirable.
Proficiency in managing food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Effective communication skills to motivate staff and liaise with management.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
A passion for culinary arts combined with a commitment to exceptional service delivery.
