Kitchen Porter

Location: Cow Girls Burger Restaurant, Redruth

Employment Type: Part-time 6 - 24 hours a week

Reports to: Super Host / Owner

About Us

What’s the beef?

We're a premium burger restaurant serving hand-crafted burgers made from the finest grass fed Cornish beef you can find! We rear our own herd of dairy cows right next to Stithians reservoir, less than five miles from our restaurant. We know our animals well, caring for them from calf to retirement. All of our cattle are grass fed on our own farm and our retired dairy cows have a two year rest at pasture at the end of their milking life. If you are interested in ethical meat you’ll know our Homage to the Bovine range of premium steaks which we supply to many of the top and award winning restaurants around Cornwall. We even have own butchery to ensure all of our products are of premium quality.

Did someone say what about the dairy? Our milk features here to!

We have a great range of shakes made from milk pasteurised on the farm and even make our own Cornish soft serve ice cream. You have to try it!

In short our restaurant is a celebration of Cornish dairy farming!

Of course there are carefully curated sides and an impressive drinks selection featuring our own farm made cordials, low impact wines and the farmers favourite Hawkstone beers. So there is plenty of up-sell opportunities and reasons to keep guests in their seats.

We take pride in exceptional ingredients, a vibrant atmosphere, and service that makes every guest feel like a regular.

The Role

As our Kitchen Porter, you're the glue that holds our kitchen together! Your smily can do attitude and keenness to learn is apparent at all times. You want to run this kitchen someday! and this is your first foot in the door.

What You'll Do

Keep everything spotless We’re big on clean and you’ll have an eye on every corner of the kitchen. No spill goes un-mopped and no surface goes un wiped!
The dish washer is your best friend they do the scrubbing while you diligently load and unload. Making sure Chef has all the plates he needs and that the hosts always have cutlery at hand.
When your not washing you could be shaking! We pride ourselves on making the best shakes in town and this will be the first area you’ll learn new skills. Knowing the recipes off by heart and able to make shakes in a jiffy, whilst always ensuring the area is spotlessly clean.
Chop chop We’ll teach you some basic knives skills and get you involved in basic food prep
Help with everything Our chefs are going to be busy and you are going be their best sidekick ever! Stacking and replenishing plates, fetching stock from fridges and keeping the whole place spotlessly clean. This is your opportunity to learn the ropes before progressing in the kitchen or front of house.
