Experienced B2B Appointment Setter (Freelance, Remote)

Remote within the UK | Flexible hours | Self-employed contract | Performance-based earnings

The role

Hyphen is looking for an experienced B2B appointment setter to speak with owners of established businesses and book qualified Commercial Assessments.

This is a focused outbound role. Your job is to start credible conversations, identify whether there is a genuine commercial opportunity and book the right owner into a meeting. You will not be expected to close sales, create content, manage accounts or deliver client work.

About Hyphen

Hyphen is a commercial operating company for owner-managed businesses. We identify the improvements that will have the greatest commercial impact, then help implement them. The outcome is a business that is more profitable, less stressful and easier to run.

We primarily work with established businesses across construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire and security, facilities management, property maintenance, building services and specialist engineering.

What you will do

Cold-call suitable B2B prospects from agreed data.

Speak confidently with business owners and senior decision-makers.

Ask concise questions to uncover genuine commercial problems or opportunities.

Position Hyphen’s complimentary Commercial Assessment clearly and honestly.

Book qualified 20–30 minute appointments directly into the calendar.

Record accurate call outcomes and qualification notes in the CRM.

Follow up agreed callbacks and help protect meeting attendance.

What you will not do

Close sales or negotiate fees.

Create content or run marketing campaigns.

Manage clients or deliver Hyphen services.

Spend time building your own prospect lists unless separately agreed.

What we are looking for

Demonstrable experience in outbound B2B cold calling and appointment setting.

A track record of booking meetings with business owners or senior decision-makers.

A clear, credible and natural telephone manner.

Confidence handling gatekeepers and objections without becoming pushy.

Strong listening, qualification and note-taking skills.

Reliable self-management and consistent follow-up.

Experience selling into construction, trades, property services or SMEs is useful, but not essential.

What we provide

Defined ideal-client criteria and prospect data.

Calling system, CRM and booking calendar.

Call framework, objection handling and Commercial Assessment training.

Call review, feedback and coaching.

A clear definition of a qualified, payable appointment.

Earnings

This is not a salaried role and income is not guaranteed. The recommended pilot structure is:

£50 for every qualified appointment that attends.

£150 additional bonus when an attributed prospect becomes a paying Hyphen client and payment clears.

Full qualification, attribution and payment rules will be provided before the pilot begins. Earnings are uncapped, but quality is more important than booking volume.

Application process

Please apply with your CV and answer the screening questions. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit a 60–90 second voice response and complete a short live role-play. We care about evidence of outbound performance, how you sound on the phone and whether you can hold a credible conversation with a business owner.

Contract details

Freelance / self-employed contract. Remote. Flexible hours. Initial four-week paid pilot, with the opportunity to continue if the economics and working relationship are strong.

Pay: From £3,500.00 per month
