Job Purpose
The AI Trainer will deliver and support learners across both the Level 4 Artificial Intelligence and Automation Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard alongside the AI Leadership Apprenticeship Units. The role is focused on developing learners’ knowledge, skills and behaviours through high-quality online delivery and assessment practices, enabling them to progress successfully within the AI sector.
The trainer will deliver engaging learning sessions, provide individualised support and monitor learner progress through a range of assessment methods. For learners undertaking the Level 4 AI Apprenticeship Standard, the trainer will prepare apprentices for Gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA), ensuring they develop the required occupational competence and are supported to achieve the highest possible grade.
For learners undertaking the AI Leadership Apprenticeship Units the trainer will deliver and assess the programme through internal assessment methods, ensuring learners successfully achieve the required units and learning outcomes.
Role and Responsibilities
- Deliver a structured learning journey for all apprentices, adhering to the requirements of the delivered standards, ensuring consistency and fairness throughout.
-Deliver engaging remote sessions.
- Ensure that evidence for learning is captured efficiently and effectively in the required formats.
- Engage with learner’s line manager/mentor, making clear their responsibilities in the apprentice’s journey and working collaboratively to provide support, guidance and identify opportunities for learning.
- Conduct regular progress reviews with learners, mentors and employers.
- Manage a caseload of learners at the agreed volume relevant to the programme delivered.
- Ensure that electronic evidence recording systems are regularly updated and give an accurate reflection of each learners’ progress.
- Support each learners end to end journey from start to EPA.
- Complete the marking of learner’s portfolio submissions.
- Work with employers to ensure that learning programmes are individualised and that all parties are involved in the process.
- Support the development of training materials and programmes, drawing on sector expertise and CPD to ensure that our delivery remains at the forefront for each sector.
- Provide pastoral and safeguarding support for learners.
- Deliver personalised careers information, advice and guidance to apprentices fostering their professional growth, development and wellbeing.
- Contribute to the ongoing self-assessment process and work in line with all Wise Origin policies and procedures.
- Respond to learners’ communications within the agreed timeframe of 2 working days
- Complete sector specific CPD on an annual basis totalling at least 40 hrs per sector.
Essential Criteria
All applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK and have the ability to pass an enhanced DBS check.
Essential Skills:
- Advanced technical knowledge and industry experience within Artificial Intelligence, automation technologies, machine learning and generative AI.
- Experience of delivering AI-related training, workshops, qualifications or apprenticeship programmes within an education or workplace learning environment.
- Ability to translate complex AI concepts into engaging, accessible and industry-relevant learning content for learners with varying levels of technical understanding.
- Up-to-date knowledge of emerging AI technologies, industry trends, ethical considerations and best practices within the AI sector.
- Experience of working to deadlines and targets whilst maintaining own diary.
- Ability to motivate and support individuals against milestones and targets.
- Knowledge of government funded training programmes
- Understanding of apprenticeship routes and process
- Enhanced DBS
Qualifications:
- Assessor qualified, A1, TAQA, CAVA, or D32, D33
- Recognised teaching or training qualification at level 3 or above, which could include any of the following: Level 3 or 4 Award in Education and Training or Diploma or Certificate in Education.
- GCSE grade C/4 or above Functional Skills level 2 or above in English and Maths.
- Proven expertise in a related field, supported by industry-recognised qualifications or experience.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years experience of working within work-based learning
- Familiarity with apprenticeship standards and End-Point Assessment processes.
- Experience using e-portfolio systems to manage learner progress.
- Ability to work to key performance indicators
Skills and competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
- Effective organisational and planning skills, including diary management
- Ability to adapt teaching styles to meet individual learner needs and learning preferences.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in digital fields.
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines and targets.
Technical requirements:
- Access to reliable technology and internet for online delivery and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for remote training delivery (e.g., Zoom, Teams, or similar).
Desirable:
- IQA qualification or experience.
- Experience in developing curriculum.
- Previous experience with independent training providers.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and Prevent Duty.
- Experience of working with young people with SEN.
