Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Charity Shop Worker to join our team. This role involves supporting the day-to-day operations of our charity shop, ensuring a welcoming environment for customers, and assisting with various administrative and organisational tasks. The ideal candidate will be passionate about community service, possess excellent customer service skills, and be eager to contribute to a meaningful cause. This paid position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in retail, customer relations, and administrative duties within a supportive environment.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their visit
Assist with the organisation and display of donated goods, ensuring items are attractively presented
Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and process payments
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor and stock areas
Support with stock management, including sorting donations and recording inventory
Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry and updating records using basic IT skills
Contribute to promotional activities and community engagement initiatives
Support other team members with general shop duties as required

Skills

Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner
Basic IT skills for data entry, record keeping, and using shop management software
Administrative experience is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is important
Organised with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team or independently as needed
Passionate about community work and supporting charitable causes

The job vacancy is for 10 hours per week - Thursday and Friday 10am - 3pm
