We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at the STEP Programme. You'll be responsible for package proposals and package delivery as these are secured by Kier Nuvia JV. This role offers the chance to be part of a long-term presence at STEP, where you'll contribute through exceptional customer service, relationship building and value for money management. You'll maximise profitability, improve cash flow, manage commercial risk and provide commercial support to project teams whilst maintaining compliance with JV governance procedures and contractual requirements.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the STEP Programme team, supporting them in delivering commercial objectives through proactive contract management, cost control, procurement, risk management and stakeholder engagement. Your day to day will include:
- Supporting delivery of programme commercial objectives, profitability targets, cost certainty and cash performance
- Administering contracts in accordance with NEC4 forms of contract, including compensation events, quotations, early warnings and change control
- Managing subcontractors from procurement to final account, including preparation of tender documentation and establishing collaborative relationships
- Developing and maintaining detailed cost forecasts, cost-to-complete assessments and commercial performance reports
- Identifying, evaluating and managing commercial risks and opportunities across assigned packages
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You have significant experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, defence or complex construction projects
- You have experience managing complex subcontract procurement and commercial package management
- You have a thorough understanding of the NEC suite of contracts
- You possess strong cost planning, forecasting and reporting capability with excellent negotiation and communication skills
- You have the ability to manage risk, change and contractual entitlement in a structured and auditable manner

You'll be responsible for maximising profitability, improving cash flow, and managing commercial risk whilst supporting our long-term presence at STEP through strong client relationships and outstanding service delivery.

- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities, whilst mentoring junior team members
