Financial Controller

Location: Wirral

We are currently looking for an experienced and well-established Financial Controller to join one of our clients based at their Wirral Head Office. The company is a growing organisation, and the business operates within the modular manufacturing and construction sector, delivering high-quality, innovative building solutions across the UK.

The Role

Due to continued growth within the company, we are seeking a strong Financial Controller to manage the finance team. This is a hands-on role, suited to a commercially minded finance professional who can take ownership of the finance function, support operational decision-making, and help drive business performance. The role will be varied and some key responsibilities include:

Financial Management & Reporting
Cost Control & Commercial Support
Compliance & Controls
Cash Flow & Treasury
Systems & Process Improvement
Team & Stakeholder Management

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a professional who will be able to step into the role and make an impact from their first day, you will have a proven background and experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar senior finance role. No day is the same so someone who enjoys working under a fast paced and everchanging environment would succeed in this role. Some other ideal key skills would be:

Experience within building construction or manufacturing
Strong management accounting and financial reporting background
Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills
Commercially focused with a practical, hands-on approach
Ideally must be CIMA or ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
Experience with job costing, WIP, or manufacturing costings
ERP or finance system implementation experience
Previous experience in an SME or owner-managed environment
Please note this role is office based.
