Full job description

Children’s Home Manager
Location: Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey.
Salary: £50,000-£65,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + performance bonus.
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to help with the setup, registration of a new children’s home and run the day-to-day operations of our residential children’s home, providing high-quality care and support to young people aged [insert age range]. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a pivotal role in shaping the lives and futures of children and young people in care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide effective leadership and management of the home in line with Ofsted requirements, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
Help with safe recruitment of other members of staff.
Ensure the delivery of safe, nurturing, and child-centred care.
Lead, support, and develop a team of residential care staff, promoting a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Maintain compliance with safeguarding procedures and all relevant legislation.
Manage budgets, resources, and administrative functions efficiently.
Foster positive relationships with children, families, external professionals, and local authorities.

Requirements:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
Familiar with the registration process of a new children’s home with OFSTED.
Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a residential children’s setting.
In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and regulatory frameworks.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Commitment to promoting the welfare and rights of children and young people.
