Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals with an interest in catering, cooking, and food preparation, whether you have prior restaurant experience or are looking to develop your culinary skills. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and excellent service to our customers.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and food safety procedures to ensure compliance with health standards
Support chefs and kitchen staff in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
Organise stock supplies, check inventory levels, and assist with restocking as needed
Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner
Follow all food safety guidelines and hygiene standards at all times
Support catering events by setting up and clearing away food stations
Assist with basic cooking tasks under supervision to enhance culinary skills

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential; a keen interest in culinary arts is important
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Flexibility to work shifts that may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Willingness to learn new skills and contribute positively to the kitchen team
