Full job description

Job Summary

12-14 Month Fixed-Term Contract Part-Time (25.00 hours per week) Competitive Salary Depending on Experience.

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and forward-thinking Temporary Practice Manager to join our friendly and well-established GP practice on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover for approximately 12-14 months.

To ensure a smooth transition and continuity of leadership, the successful candidate will benefit from a comprehensive handover period with the current Practice Manager prior to commencement, together with a further period of overlap following their return.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Practice Manager, to lead a dedicated team and support the delivery of high-quality patient care with a support of a fabulous Assistant Practice Manager.

Duties

Overall operational management of the practice
Leadership and management of clinical and non-clinical staff
Human resources, recruitment, and workforce planning
Financial management, budgeting, and reporting
Compliance with NHS regulations, CQC standards, and contractual requirements
Premises and facilities management
Supporting quality improvement initiatives and service development
Working closely with GP Partners, PCN colleagues, and external stakeholders

Experience

Proven supervisory or management experience within a healthcare setting
Strong background in financial management, including budgeting and expense tracking
Experience in human resources functions such as recruitment, staff development, and performance management
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively
