About the role

Start Your Career as an Electrician with North Northamptonshire Council

We are recruiting for Electrical Apprenticeships and looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to build a rewarding career in the electrical trade.

As an Electrical Apprentice, you will work towards achieving the Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship, developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to become a qualified Electrician. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience while supporting qualified tradespeople to deliver high-quality repairs, maintenance, and improvement works across our housing properties, helping to make a real difference to tenants' homes and communities.

What will you be doing?

Work towards successfully achieving the Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship, developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become a qualified Electrician.
Support qualified electricians with repairs, maintenance and improvement works across North Northamptonshire Council's housing properties.
Gain practical, hands-on experience while applying learning from college and workplace training.
Assist with a range of site-based activities, including electrical work, labouring duties and administrative tasks, under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
Attend all required training, college sessions and mentoring meetings to support professional development.
Follow all health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment and reporting hazards promptly.
Learn from experienced tradespeople, building the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in the electrical trade.
Work across a variety of locations and environments, including outdoor settings and varying weather conditions, while handling tools, equipment and materials safely.

About you

GCSE Maths and English at grades A-C or 4-9 or equivalent is Essential.
Ability to travel to college within Northamptonshire / Leicestershire for day release
