Overview
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Part-time Barista to join our vibrant team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic café environment, providing exceptional service to our customers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee and customer service, with a keen eye for detail and a positive attitude. Flexibility to work during busy periods, including weekends, is preferred. This paid position is suitable for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry while balancing other commitments.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including speciality coffees and teas, ensuring quality standards are met.
Handle customer orders efficiently and courteously, providing excellent service at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, equipment, and seating spaces in accordance with food safety standards.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light bites when required.
Manage cash register operations accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Follow health and safety regulations diligently, including food safety procedures.
Engage with customers in a friendly manner to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Skills

Previous barista experience or familiarity with coffee preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices.
Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment.
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service.
Strong organisational skills to keep work areas tidy and stocked.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team with a positive attitude towards customer service. This role offers an engaging environment for those passionate about hospitality and eager to develop their skills within the food service industry.
