Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Conference and Events Assistant (casual) to support the delivery of a variety of events and conferences. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in hospitality, catering, or guest services to gain valuable experience within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with event setup, guest support, and ensuring smooth operations throughout each event. Flexibility and a proactive attitude are essential to succeed in this role.

Duties

Assist with the preparation and organisation of conference rooms and event spaces, including setting up tables, chairs, and equipment.
Support catering services by serving food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards.
Provide excellent guest services by welcoming attendees, answering queries, and ensuring their needs are met throughout the event.
Help with food preparation tasks as required, adhering to food safety regulations.
Support the team during service periods, including serving meals and clearing tables efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of event areas before, during, and after events.
Assist with logistical arrangements such as organising materials or equipment needed for conferences or meetings.
Collaborate with team members to ensure all aspects of events run smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements

Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or guest services is highly desirable.
Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation skills.
Experience working in a restaurant or hotel environment is advantageous.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with guests and team members.
Flexibility to work casual hours that may include evenings or weekends depending on event schedules.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. This role provides an engaging opportunity for those passionate about hospitality and events management to develop their skills within a supportive team environment.

Pay: £13.45 per hour
