We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A prison located in Warwickshire.

HMP Onley is a Category C male prison with a capacity for 710 males. We are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to support the wider healthcare team. There is free parking on site.

Hours

3 week rolling rota - 37.5 hours a week
1 weekend in 3
0700 - 19.30 - Monday- Thursday shifts
0700 - 18.30 - Friday- Sunday Shifts

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum

What you'll be doing

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required

NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
Excellent communication skills
Good IT skills and IT literacy
Ability to work within a busy environment
Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
