Full job description

MAIN PURPOSE:

1. Conduct one to one’s with learners to discuss careers and work placements to be undertaken that are inline with their career aspirations and needs.

2. Carry out one to one’s with learners as required to do so.

3. Manage and secure placement opportunities for learners on all provision in relevant occupational areas.

4. Build relationships and liaise with Employers to maximise employment/progression opportunities for learners.

5. Generate new business and attend career and promotional events as required.

6. Mentor learners to identify their strengths, set achievable goals and develop an actionable plan for future success.

7. Manage learner destination and progression and assist learners in progressing to their next steps

8. Empower learners and help them to navigate their career paths and next steps effectively.

9. Paperwork as required – placement request form.

10. Complete a Health & Safety check of the workplace to ensure the working environment maintains Health & Safety standards in accordance with the HSAWA – Complete standard 10 in the Individual Learning Plan (ILP).

11. Any other duties as designated by the Management Team

Performance Standards

1. Ensure learner progression is achieved.

2. Challenge and stretch learners beyond their individual capabilities to build confidence and self-esteem – in relation to communication and interview techniques.

3. Develop and deliver workshops on various career related topics, utilising your skills to engage learners effectively.

4. Identify transferrable skills and explore potential career options that align with their interests and qualifications.

5. Provide pastoral support to assigned learners both internally and externally.

6. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of job market trends and different industry requirements to provide our learners with relevant guidance.

7. Collaborate with local employers and organisations to create opportunities for learner placements, internships, apprenticeships, FE or employment.

8. Ensure all documentation relating to the programme is completed and submitted within timescales – placement request form/obtaining progression evidence. Tracking of learner progress and outcomes, adjusting strategies necessary to ensure positive progression.

9. Assist in the review process in accordance with required frequencies to provide input and involve the employer to obtain comment in relation to learner engagement/attitude and progress within placement.

1. Monitor the policy and any cases of reported allegations or risk when they arise.

2. Receive information about programmes that are planned that may involve young people or vulnerable adults to ensure safeguarding is covered.

3. Receive information from any staff who have safeguarding concerns and record it if directed to do so.

4. Promote and support safer recruitment practice.

5. Minimise the risk of misplaced or malicious allegations made against adults who work with children and young people.

6. Reduce the incidence of positions of trust being abused or misused.

7. Comply with The Prevent Duty and report any concerns to Designated Safeguarding Officer immediately in relation to learners, staff, and members of the public.

1. Ensure all individual targeted retention, progression and achievement outcomes are met

2. Ensure all recruitment opportunities are maximised, and targets are met across all types of provision.

3. Give required support to learners and ensure attendance, behaviour and engagement are consistently monitored – in relation to work placement.

4. Ensure safeguarding issues are reported immediately to the DSL.

5. Monitor targeted learners as per company guidelines.

6. Maintain and build strong links with external organisations, employers, and partners.

1. Provide reports to your Line Manager/Managing Director as required in relation to learner destination and progression

2. Build relationships with employers and FE sector to enhance learner opportunities for progression.

3. Monitor learner progression as per required Government timescales over specific period

1. Ensure that Quality Procedures are adhered to, and all documentation is completed correctly according to contract requirements.

2. Achieve minimum Grade 2’s in respect of OFSTED inspection.

3. Ensure standards required by Awarding Bodies are met and improvement actions are implemented within required timescales.

4. Implement improvement actions from audits within required timescales.

1. Ensure that staff and learners maintain Health and Safety standards.

2. Ensure that the training facility is maintained to provide a safe and healthy environment

3. Always promote the company’s Equal Opportunities Policy.

4. Embed and promote British Values in day-to-day practices.
