Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assembly Operator to join our team in a newly created role. This position will play a key part in supporting our Field Service Engineers by assembling high-quality wiring harnesses, cable looms, and preparing complete installation kits for deployment in vehicle-based technology systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on electrical assembly experience who enjoys working in a practical, production-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble wiring harnesses and cable looms to required specifications
- Prepare and kit all components for installation by Field Service Engineers
- Carry out crimping, heat shrinking, and general cable preparation tasks
- Interpret basic wiring diagrams and assembly instructions
- Ensure all assemblies meet quality and safety standards
- Perform visual inspections and basic testing of assembled products
- Maintain accurate records of work completed
- Support stock control and organisation of components
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to meet project requirements
Skills & Experience
- Experience in electrical or mechanical assembly is advantageous
- Familiarity with crimping tools, heat shrink applications, and cable termination
- Basic understanding of wiring and electrical components
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings or instructions
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Good manual dexterity and practical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience assembling harnesses or cable looms
- Background in automotive, telematics, or electronics environments
- Experience preparing installation kits or working in a production setting
- Basic electrical testing knowledge
