Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. This role involves supporting food preparation, cooking, and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, food safety, and providing excellent service. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment while contributing to the creation of delicious meals for our guests.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established specs and standards
Support the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure hygiene compliance
Prepare ingredients and assist with food plating for service
Follow food safety guidelines at all times, maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of ingredients
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and replenishment of supplies
Support senior kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure timely meal service
Maintain a positive attitude and work efficiently as part of a team

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen roles is preferred, training will be provided
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is desirable
Experience working in a catering environment is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends if required
A genuine interest in culinary arts and customer service skills
