Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient 'all rounder' Front of HouseCafe / Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food service and eager to contribute to a welcoming environment for our customers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a small team and contribute to the overall success of the farm shop and cafe.

Duties

Help coordinate daily activities to ensure smooth operations
Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages in accordance with company standards
Assist with meal preparation and food safety procedures to ensure quality and hygiene during peak times and holiday cover
Serve customers courteously and efficiently, taking orders and handling transactions
Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels
Maintain cleanliness of the dining area and equipment throughout shifts
Restock supplies and ensure all areas are organised and shopable
Support the team during busy periods by assisting with additional tasks as required
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers

Experience

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable
Knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and food safety standards is beneficial
Familiarity with serving customers in a fast-paced setting is advantageous
Basic kitchen experience or culinary background essential with additional chef or baking skills advantageous
A positive attitude, good organisational skills, and the ability to work well within a team are essential for success in this role
Proven experience within a retail or hospitality/kitchen environment
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Demonstrable leadership qualities with the ability to inspire a team
Previous experience in visual merchandising or stock management is desirable

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced setting. The successful candidate will be organised, personable, and committed to fostering a positive experience for all guests.
