About The Organisation

Here at NHS Lanarkshire, we put the patient at the heart of everything we do. Each colleague within the organisation plays a key role in how we deliver our healthcare services.

We proudly serve a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in both North and South Lanarkshire. NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.

The Role

To provide high-quality, efficient, effective input to the Digital Psychological Service, including coordinating and supervising provision of online therapeutics, and helping the Digital Lead to develop the wider service.

The Digital Psychological Service is all about how we can best use online approaches in order to increase access to psychological resources for the benefit of people across Lanarkshire.

A key aspect of this involves the provision of high-quality, evidence-based, online therapeutics (sometimes known as computerised cognitive behavioural therapy, or cCBT). The post-holder will take a leading role in this part of the service, allocating and supervising the work of others in the team, and working with local and national stakeholders to develop this further.

In a rapidly changing context, the Digital Psychological Service is continually evolving. There will be considerable scope for the post-holder to engage in service-development work, including expanding the range of population-level approaches on our Lanarkshire Mind Matters website, and carrying out small-scale research to help inform future direction.

There will be scope within the allocated hours for working with other parts of Psychological Services to offer individual and group therapy. The Digital Psychological Service is based at Hunter Health Centre in East Kilbride, though there will be opportunity for remote working.

What You'll Bring:

The post holder must have an honours degree in psychology (eligible for GBR) and a post-graduate Masters level (or equivalent) degree in Psychological Therapy.

Relevant clinical experience

Have knowledge of relevant national and professional guidelines for optimal standards of clinical care.

Have some knowledge of Psychiatry and other related professions in order to understand complex clinical presentation.

Excellent communication skills.

Be aware of the limits of one's competence and expertise and work within those boundaries (particularly in the initial postgraduate year).
