Prepare materials for fabrication by cleaning, stripping, degreasing, or preheating them to ensure optimal conditions for cutting and shaping where the CNC or press brake process is not adopted.

Set and tack weld pre-cut and pre-folded components.

Operate a CNC press brake.

Identify when a pre-made jig is required and utilise it appropriately.

Follow a pre-agreed QA process that aligns with the CE accreditation requirements of precast component manufacture.

Utilise a tack welding process on both mild steel and stainless steel materials, with the majority of work involving stainless steel.

Follow the approved Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).

Read and interpret component fabrication drawings presented in both 2D and 3D formats.

Conduct welding equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.

Use a range of workshop tools and equipment, including grinding tools, finishing tools, and gas equipment.

Read measuring devices, tape measures, etc. these to be calibrated frequently.

Ensure correct use of supplied Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to all health and safety requirements.

Work effectively within a small team with minimal supervision once materials, tools, and drawings have been provided.

Monitor welding, burning, and fitting processes to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.

Work with the management of materials.

Qualified coded welder in fillet welding, butt welding, or both.

Minimum of 3-5 years' welding experience.

Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings to a high standard.

Ability to use CNC machinery.

Current Abrasive Wheels training certification.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong team-working abilities.

Good understanding of basic mathematics and measurements.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Excellent understanding of health and safety procedures, policies, and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Fluent English language skills.

Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Current CSCS card for UK site work is desirable.

Experience and certification in the operation of a 2-tonne overhead crane.

Manual Handling certification (training can be provided if required).

Valid First Aid qualification is desirable.

Valid Forklift Truck licence is desirable.
