Overview

The Digital PR & Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing My Pension Expert's (MPE) digital reputation strategy to strengthen the company's online authority, increase brand visibility and support long-term SEO performance. Working at the intersection of Digital PR, Social Media, Content Marketing and SEO, the role will drive earned media opportunities, develop engaging social content, build relationships with journalists and industry influencers, and position MPE as a trusted thought leader within its markets. The successful candidate will create integrated campaigns that generate high-quality backlinks, increase brand awareness, improve search rankings and strengthen MPE's reputation across digital channels. They will also be responsible for managing MPE's organic social media presence, amplifying campaigns and building advocacy through employees, customers and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Digital PR Strategy

· Deliver MPE's Digital PR strategy aligned to the wider marketing, brand and SEO objectives.

· Identify opportunities to improve MPE's online reputation, authority and share of voice across key markets.

· Collaborate with the SEO, marketing and PR Teams to ensure Digital PR activity supports keyword priorities, organic growth and domain authority.

· Identify newsworthy stories, research, customer success stories and company achievements that can be leveraged for media coverage.

SEO & Authority Building

· Work closely with SEO specialists to identify backlink opportunities from authoritative websites.

· Ensure Digital PR campaigns contribute directly to improvements in search visibility.

· Monitor competitor backlink profiles and identify opportunities for MPE to increase digital authority.

· Collaborate on content strategies that improve keyword rankings and organic traffic.

· Track the SEO value generated through Digital PR activity.

Social Media Strategy & Management

· Develop and deliver MPE's organic social media strategy, ensuring alignment with wider marketing, Digital PR and SEO objectives.

· Manage and grow MPE's presence across LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Instagram and emerging social platforms where relevant.

· Create engaging, informative and visually compelling content that builds brand awareness, trust and engagement.

· Develop integrated social campaigns that support product launches, campaigns, events and business initiatives.

· Amplify Digital PR campaigns across social media to maximise reach and engagement.

· Maintain a consistent tone of voice and brand identity across all social platforms.

· Develop content calendars and coordinate activity with wider marketing campaigns.

· Identify opportunities to increase engagement through trends, industry conversations and community participation.

· Manage online communities by responding to comments and enquiries in a timely and professional manner.

· Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to strengthen MPE's social presence.

Reputation Management

· Monitor MPE's online reputation across media, search engines, review platforms and social media.

· Track brand mentions and social sentiment.

· Identify reputational risks and work with senior stakeholders to manage responses.

· Promote positive customer stories and case studies that reinforce trust and credibility.

· Support crisis communications where required.

Content Development

· Produce engaging content including:

· Case studies

· Social media content

· Executive profiles

· Customer stories

· Work with designers and videographers to produce engaging multimedia content.

Whilst not an initial prerequisite, an ability to demonstrate leadership and management capability will be required.

Skills & Knowledge

Essential

· Proven experience in Digital PR, Communications or Social Media Marketing.

· Strong understanding of SEO and the role Digital PR plays in improving organic search performance.

· Experience securing media coverage across online and traditional publications.

· Demonstrable success managing business social media channels.

· Excellent copywriting, storytelling and communication skills.

· Experience developing integrated marketing campaigns.

· Strong project management and organisational skills.

· Ability to interpret campaign analytics and make data-driven decisions.

· Experience building relationships with journalists, influencers and industry stakeholders.

Desirable

· Experience using SEO platforms such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz or Majestic.

· Experience within financial services (

· Knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Search Console.

· Experience using social media management platforms.

· Reports to Policy Director

· Works within the wider Marketing team

· 40 hours per week
