Full job description

We’re looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the National Trust shop at Seahouses, to answer their questions and help them make the most of their day.

Salary: £12.75 per hour

Contract Duration: Fixed term until 1st November 2026

Working Pattern: You will work 12:15pm to 5:15pm, 3 days per week. Working days will include a mix of weekdays and alternate weekend shifts, depending on business needs. Flexibility to work Bank Holidays is also required.

Provisional Interview Dates: Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th July

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What you'll be doing:As a member of the retail team, you’ll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You’ll have high standards of presentation in the shop while providing excellent service to all customers.

You’ll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
