Full job description

We are currently looking for a junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing costs related to construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The company carry out high end residential build in some of London's best properties.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for projects.

Help develop and manage project budgets.

Provide input on cost-saving strategies.

Tendering and Contract Management:

Support the preparation and submission of tender documents.

Assist in reviewing and negotiating contracts with clients and subcontractors.

Maintain and update contract documentation.

Measurement and Valuation:

Conduct site visits to measure and value work done.

Prepare and submit progress claims.

Assist in the preparation of final accounts.

Assist in the preparation of regular financial reports for management.

Monitor project expenditures and identify variances from budgets.

Support the management of project cash flow and financial forecasting.

Risk Management:

Identify and assess potential risks to project finances.

Assist in the implementation of risk mitigation strategies.

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site staff.

Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Attend project meetings and provide necessary financial information.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:

Previous experience or internships in a construction or manufacturing environment is advantageous.

Familiarity with structural steel projects is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools.

Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management.

Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Personal Attributes:

Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
