Full job description

We are seeking to recruit two temporary (six month) full-time (37 hours per week) Social Workers, to join our Adult Social Work Team at Derwentside Locality. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive team, helping adults achieve positive outcomes, maximise independence and improve their wellbeing.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
The Derwentside Locality Team provides support to adults across the Derwentside area, undertaking assessments, reviews and safeguarding enquiries, whilst promoting independence and strengths-based practice.

As a Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload, working with adults, their families, carers and partner agencies to identify needs, assess risks and develop person-centred support plans. You will be responsible for undertaking Care Act assessments, reviews, mental capacity assessments and safeguarding enquiries where appropriate.

You will work collaboratively with health colleagues and a range of partner organisations to ensure adults receive timely, coordinated and effective support. The role requires excellent assessment and analytical skills, a commitment to person-centred practice and the ability to balance risk whilst promoting choice and independence.

You will benefit from regular supervision, access to training and development opportunities and the support of an experienced and dedicated team.

The post holder will be required to work 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am - 4.30pm on a Friday. We also offer flexible working arrangements.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You must:

Hold a recognised Social Work qualification.
Be registered with Social Work England.
Have experience of working with adults in a statutory social care setting.
Have knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding principles and relevant legislation.
Demonstrate strong assessment, planning and analytical skills.
Be able to develop effective working relationships with adults, carers, partner agencies and colleagues.
Be committed to promoting independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for adults.
Be able to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a busy team environment.
