Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Chef to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks that support the health and development of young children. Your culinary expertise will ensure that meal times are both enjoyable and safe, fostering a positive dining experience for our little learners. Responsibilities

Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks tailored to the dietary needs of children in the nursery
Follow food safety standards and hygiene protocols rigorously to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
Manage food inventory, order supplies, and ensure freshness of ingredients at all times
Collaborate with nursery staff to accommodate special dietary requirements or allergies
Serve meals with care, ensuring proper portioning and presentation that encourages positive eating habits
Maintain accurate records of food preparation, storage, and safety checks
Assist in creating a welcoming dining atmosphere that promotes social interaction and enjoyment among children

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a childcare or similar setting
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
Previous kitchen or culinary experience in a restaurant or institutional environment is highly desirable
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and caregivers
Passion for working with children and supporting their nutritional needs
