Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at Montigo Resort Charlton House. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food and hospitality to develop their skills in a professional environment. The J Sous Chef will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The position is paid and ideal for those looking to advance their culinary career within a reputable establishment.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
Support food safety and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas
Help with kitchen organisation, including cleaning, sanitising, and maintaining equipment
Participate in food presentation and plating to meet quality standards
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service
Contribute to menu development ideas and special event preparations
Support supervising staff in managing daily kitchen tasks and team management duties when required

Qualifications

Proven experience or background in food production, culinary arts, or hospitality settings
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Previous restaurant or catering experience is desirable
Strong team management and leadership skills with supervisory experience preferred
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
