Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and working with children, providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop management and leadership skills within a supportive setting. Previous nursery experience and childcare qualifications are desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Duties

Support the daily care and supervision of children in the nursery setting, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
Assist in organising age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment for children and staff
Support children's emotional and social development through positive interactions and encouragement
Work collaboratively with colleagues to implement nursery policies and procedures
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and needs
Assist with basic administrative tasks related to children's records and activity planning
Support the management team in supervising staff members and volunteers when required

Skills

Experience or interest in management, leadership, or working with children within a childcare or nursery environment
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices
Ability to engage children through creative activities and play-based learning
Organised, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Compassionate with excellent interpersonal skills; able to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

Pay: £12.00-£13.00 per hour
