Job Title: Training Manager
Reports to: Head of Compliance
Redditch based however travel across the UK is required
Role Summary:
The Training Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs for all employees including Security Operatives, leadership and management roles and apprentices.
This role ensures that all employees are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to perform their duties effectively and maintain the highest standards of security and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Training Program Development:
· Design, develop, and implement a training matrix with supported training programs for all roles including onboarding, ongoing training, and specialised courses to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
· Create and update training materials, manuals, and resources to ensure they are current and effective.
· Develop training booklets, e-learning modules, courses, bite sized training and other training resources.
· Internal owner of a formal apprenticeship strategy.
· Develop future leadership programme to support career pathways and improve manager and leadership capability.
· Where necessary make recommendations support by business case for utilisation of external trainers, consultants or training providers to provide course content or support training delivery.
Training Delivery:
· Manage Trainers to delivery effective training solutions
· Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars for new hires and existing staff.
· Facilitate practical, hands-on training exercises to ensure skill proficiency.
· Coordinate with external training providers as needed.
· Develop and deliver a Train the Trainer programme to Operational Managers to ensure effective delivery on and ongoing basis.
Evaluation and Improvement:
· Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
· Monitor and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
· Staying up to date with the industry best practices, regulatory requirements, emerging trends to ensure training content is current and continuously improve their own skills.
Training Academy Management:
· Establish, develop and manage the organisation's Training Academy based in Redditch, ensuring it operates as a centre of excellence for security training and professional development.
· Lead the design, implementation and ongoing development of accredited training programmes, including SIA licence-linked qualifications and associated compliance training.
· Manage the operational delivery of the Training Academy, including resource planning, trainer utilisation, learner administration, assessment scheduling and certification processes.
· Develop training pathways that support employee career progression from Security Operative through to supervisory, management and leadership positions.
· Expand training provision to external customers and partners, identifying opportunities to generate commercial revenue through accredited training services.
· Ensure all academy activities comply with SIA requirements, awarding body regulations, quality assurance standards and internal governance procedures.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
· Act as the registered Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) for the Training Academy, maintaining oversight of assessment quality, learner outcomes and compliance with awarding body requirements.
· Develop and implement internal quality assurance strategies, including assessment sampling, standardisation activities, trainer observations and continuous improvement plans.
· Monitor qualification achievement rates, learner feedback and quality metrics, implementing corrective actions where necessary to improve outcomes.
· Maintain accurate and auditable records relating to learner progress, assessments, certifications and quality assurance activities.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Maintain accurate records of all training activities, certifications, and personnel development.
· Prepare regular reports on training activities, outcomes, and future needs.
Collaboration and Communication:
· Work closely with the Group People Directors and Directors for each business area to identify training needs and align training initiatives with organizational goals.
· Provide guidance and support to team leaders and supervisors regarding training and development.
· Stay updated with industry trends, innovations, and best practices in security training.
Leadership & Management of the Training team throughout the employee lifecycle, providing appropriate training and development and management oversight to ensure the team delivery meets organisational requirements.

Person Specification
- Extensive experience of delivery training and development, preferably within the security industry.
- Strong knowledge of security practices, protocols, and industry standards.
- Ability to assess training needs, develop relevant programs, and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Proficient in developing and delivering effective training programs. Incorporating strong instructional design skills, to create engaging training materials with experience of multiple training methodologies.
- Proven experience leading and developing training teams, including the management of trainers, assessors and quality assurance personnel.
- Recognised IQA qualification with experience acting as a registered Internal Quality Assurer within an accredited training environment.
- Demonstrable experience working with awarding bodies, including centre compliance, quality assurance processes, external audits and qualification delivery.
- Commercially aware with experience managing training budgets, developing revenue-generating training services and understanding P&L performance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. The ability to convey information to diverse audiences. To articulate ideas clearly, listen actively, and foster collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using computer packages including Microsoft Office, training software and e-learning platforms.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to conduct site visits and conduct evaluations for the purpose of creating a plan of action and a training curriculum to address areas of opportunity
- Ability to travel to conduct training at client sites, remote locations, special events, or as needed

- 95%+ completion rate for mandatory and compliance training within required timescales.
- 90%+ first-time pass rate for SIA licence-linked qualifications.

- Zero major non-conformances identified during external audits or quality assurance visits.
Quality Assurance
- 100% completion of IQA sampling plans and standardisation activities.
- All assessment and certification records maintained accurately and submitted within agreed timescales.
- Successful retention of awarding body centre approval/accreditation status.
- Learner satisfaction score of 90%+ across all training programmes.
Commercial & Academy Growth
- Successful launch and operational implementation of the Redditch Training Academy within agreed timescales, budget and awarding body requirements.
- Obtain and maintain awarding body approval/accreditation for the Training Academy within agreed deadlines.
- Achievement of annual Training Academy revenue target.
- Delivery of agreed Training Academy P&L performance and budget objectives.
- Year-on-year growth in external learner numbers and commercial training bookings.
