Full job description

Experienced Industrial Painter – Modular Units

Location: Hedon Road, Hull
Job type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Hourly rate starts at £14.00

We Are Gateway is looking for an experienced Industrial Painter to join our new modular manufacturing site on Hedon Road, Hull.

The successful candidate will be responsible for painting modular units and associated components using both spray-painting equipment and manual application methods, including rollers and brushes.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can consistently produce a high-quality finish, work safely and manage their own workload with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

Preparing surfaces before painting, including cleaning, masking and making ready for coating
Applying paints and protective coatings using spray equipment, rollers and brushes
Mixing and preparing paints in accordance with product instructions
Ensuring an even, consistent finish that meets the required quality standards
Inspecting completed work and carrying out any necessary touch-ups
Cleaning and maintaining spray equipment, tools and the painting area
Handling, using and storing paints and chemicals safely
Following COSHH assessments, risk assessments and safe working procedures
Wearing the required PPE and RPE at all times
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
Working independently while supporting the wider production team when required

What we’re looking for

Essential:

Previous experience in industrial, commercial, modular or manufacturing painting
Proven spray-painting experience
Experience applying coatings manually using rollers and brushes
Good knowledge of surface preparation and paint application
A strong eye for detail and pride in the quality of your work
A safety-focused approach
Reliable, punctual and able to work consistently
Able to organise your own work and operate with minimal supervision
Able to follow written instructions and safe systems of work

Experience painting modular buildings, steel structures or similar manufactured products would be an advantage.
