Amegreen Education is a group of independent SEND schools across West Berkshire. Our students require high levels of care, engagement and support, and we are committed to providing a positive and supportive environment for both students and staff.
To support staff wellbeing and promote a healthy work-life balance, our working hours are 8:00am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, with minimal additional responsibilities outside these hours. Each day includes briefings and debriefings, and staff are provided with a free cooked lunch.
We also offer a dedicated weekly afternoon for CPD, planning and preparation when students are not on site.

Summary of role:
The postholder will work under the direction of the Executive Headteacher to maintain a culture of excellence, in learning and teaching which recognises pupils’ individual worth. Supporting the community in promoting positive attitudes to learning amongst pupils and staff with an ability to offer relentless commitment to a cluster of very vulnerable young pupils and their families who need tailored adaptations to access education. All postholders will work with our SEND students across our educational settings.
Main responsibilities:
The postholder will inspire, motivate and challenge students through high quality teaching, by managing behaviour effectively and ensuring a safe learning environment. The postholder will be responsible for promoting personal development and welfare of students fulfilling professional responsibilities including policy implementation and adherence to teacher standards. Contributing to the whole Centre improvement plan through curriculum development, upholding and promoting the schools’ values and pedagogy.

Responsibilities:
The Family and Local Authority Liaison Manager will:
- Receive, log and track all consultations received from Local Authorities.
- Review referral documentation, including: EHCPs
- Educational reports
- Psychology reports
- Social care reports
- Risk assessments
- Attendance information
- Previous placement information
- Safeguarding records and child protection information.
- Ensure consultation responses are completed within statutory timescales.
- Liaise with school leaders regarding capacity, safeguarding considerations and suitability of placements.
- Maintain accurate records of all consultations and outcomes.
- Work proactively with school leaders to maximise occupancy across provisions whilst ensuring placements are appropriate and can be safely and effectively supported.
Person Specification:
The Head of Centre will be accountable for:
- Build and maintain positive professional relationships with commissioning teams, SEND teams and safeguarding professionals.
- Act as the main point of contact for approximately eight Local Authorities.
- Attend consultation meetings where required.
- Respond promptly to enquiries regarding placements and availability.
- Provide regular updates on consultation outcomes, vacancies and transition arrangements.
- Undertake professional discussions relating to safeguarding concerns, risk management and pupil suitability.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
