Full job description

SR Drivers are currently recruiting reliable and experienced 7.5 Tonne (Category C1) Drivers on behalf of a well-established transport and logistics client based in Ely, Cambridgeshire (CB7).

This is a fantastic opportunity for professional drivers looking for consistent day work, weekly PAYE pay, and the flexibility of ongoing assignments or ad hoc shifts to fit around their availability.

Pay & Benefits

Choose how you receive your holiday entitlement:

£14.00 per hour PAYE (holiday accrued separately)

£15.69 per hour PAYE (inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay)

The Role

As a 7.5 Tonne Driver, your responsibilities will include:

Driving a 7.5 tonne (Category C1) flatbed vehicle
Delivering goods safely and efficiently to customer locations
Planning routes to ensure on-time deliveries
Securing loads safely before transport
Completing daily vehicle safety inspections
Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Completing delivery paperwork and proof of delivery accurately
Reporting vehicle defects or transport issues promptly
Providing excellent customer service while representing SR Drivers and our client
Complying with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and all road traffic legislation

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday
Day shifts
Early morning starts
Regular ongoing work
Flexible ad hoc shifts available
Immediate starts available

Driver Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

Valid UK Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) Driving Licence
Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
Digital Tachograph Card
Previous commercial driving experience in a 7.5 tonne vehicle
Flatbed vehicle experience is advantageous but not essential
Good understanding of Drivers' Hours, Tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations
Professional, reliable and safety-focused attitude
Good communication and customer service skills
No major driving endorsements
