Overview

Why the post exists

Take ownership for the care of our premises and facilities to keep our workplaces running safely, smoothly and reliably.

We’re looking for a dependable and practical maintenance colleague who takes pride in their work and understands the difference that well run buildings make to colleagues and tenants experiences while at work.

This is a hands on role at the heart of our operational delivery, focused on keeping our spaces safe, functional, health and safety compliant and welcoming across multiple sites.

You will respond to day to day repairs, carry out planned maintenance and checks, support office moves or changes, set up workspaces and coordinate contractor access.

In this role you need to be calm, adaptable, proactive in problem solving, and organised in how you manage tasks, records and communication. You’ll work with the scheduler to manage priorities efficiently, record work accurately, keep colleagues informed so that nothing is missed and issues are resolved quickly and properly.

The usual working pattern can be 4 or 5 days per week between Monday to Friday but must include a Friday (please confirm your preferences in the covering letter).

Overview

Key areas of responsibility

– Carry out reactive maintenance and minor repairs across multiple sites, responding calmly and professionally to issues.
– Complete planned checks and preventative maintenance, recording outcomes accurately and escalating concerns.
– Support workspace readiness, including furniture moves, room set ups and general housekeeping.
– Act as the on site contact for contractors, coordinating access, works and sign off
– Safely move, install and log facilities and IT assets, keeping records up to date.
– Support office moves, equipment delivery and space changes.
– Follow Health & Safety procedures, carrying out dynamic risk assessments and reporting hazards.
– Communicate clearly with colleagues, tenants and managers on progress and access arrangements.
– Keep accurate work logs and system records.
– Support sustainability, cost effective working and out of hours emergency cover on a rota basis.

– Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities effectively.

– Clear written and verbal communication skills.
– Good IT skills for updating records and work logs.
– A proactive, problem solving approach and ability to work independently.
– Knowledge of safe working practices and compliance requirements.
– Full UK driving licence, access to own transport and willingness to travel.
– Flexibility to provide out of hours emergency cover on a rota basis.

Step 2: Interview stage

First, you’ll be invited to participate in a virtual interview on 5 or 8 June 2026. If your interview goes well, you may be invited to attend a second interview or progress to step 3.

At the end of each interview, the interviewer will confirm the timeline for next steps.

Virtual interviews are approximately 30-minutes and in-person interviews usually last around an hour. There will be a mix of competency based interview questions and practical tasks.

Step 3: Final decisions

Decisions will be made at each stage of the process, as we score applicants against the role criteria. If you’re successful, we will contact you to make an offer (subject to satisfactory employment checks). This will be followed up in writing and a contract will be sent to you once a start date is confirmed. You will receive information on your induction and what you will do on your first day.
