Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the food service industry, particularly in a restaurant, hotel, or catering setting. The role is suitable for those with a passion for hospitality and a keen eye for detail, looking to develop their skills in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support chefs and kitchen staff.
Ensuring the cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to uphold health and safety regulations.
Organising and storing clean crockery, cutlery, and kitchen supplies efficiently.
Supporting the team during busy service periods by managing waste disposal and replenishing stock as needed.
Assisting with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service shifts.
Adhering to all food safety standards and hygiene protocols at all times.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking processes, and kitchen safety procedures is desirable.
Experience in serving or hospitality roles can be beneficial for understanding customer service expectations.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and detail.
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and food safety standards.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
