Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive mechanics and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service. The position involves working with specialised tools and equipment, requiring technical expertise and a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify issues with vehicles.
Perform repairs and maintenance on a wide range of motor vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, and electrical systems.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, repairs, and modifications.
Interpret technical drawings and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs and part replacements.
Carry out heavy lifting of vehicle components safely and efficiently during repair procedures.
Maintain detailed service records and document all work performed in accordance with company standards.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and offering advice on vehicle maintenance.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they develop into major problems.
Assist in equipment repair and preventative maintenance to ensure workshop tools and machinery are operational.

Requirements

Proven experience in vehicle repair or maintenance, with strong mechanical knowledge.
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams related to automotive systems.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, engine diagnostics, and general mechanical repairs.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily tasks.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail when documenting work processes.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology or mechanical engineering are preferred but not essential. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills within a professional automotive environment while delivering exceptional service standards.

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
