Families, Play & Youth Worker (Bank / Sessional) Spring Community Hub | Southwark, Lewisham & Havering

About us:

Spring Community Hub tackles food insecurity and hunger in our Southwark community. We’re not just about food - we provide wraparound support including holiday clubs, youth groups, advice services and community events.

The role.

We’re looking for confident, experienced workers to lead and manage your own holiday clubs, after-school sessions and youth groups. You’ll plan activities, manage groups, support children with additional needs, and create a safe, inclusive environment where young people thrive.

This is a bank/sessional role across multiple sites. You’ll work during school holidays (Easter, Summer, Christmas, Half Terms) and may also pick up term-time after-school and youth club shifts.

What you’ll bring:

Proven experience leading children and/or young people’s activities
Confidence to lead sessions independently with minimal supervision
Strong planning and organisational skills
Good safeguarding knowledge and commitment to policies
Ability to manage groups calmly and confidently
Genuine passion for young people’s development and wellbeing

Desirable:

Relevant qualification (Playwork, Youth Work, Childcare, Teaching Assistant, Sports Coaching, etc.)
Experience with young people aged 11–18 or SEND support
First Aid certification
Experience managing volunteers
