Job Description: Caretaker / Cleaner (2-Month Contract with Local Authority)

Summary:

This temporary position is designed to cover sickness until 12.8.26, offering a pay rate of £15.37 per hour. The role involves providing a high-quality caretaking and cleaning service across council housing stock. The aim is to ensure communal areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained, supporting a positive living environment for residents while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and building regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform cleaning of internal and external communal areas, including:
- Sweeping, mopping, and dusting
- Litter picking and waste removal
- Cleaning entrances, stairwells, and shared spaces
- Sweeping car parks, service roads, and outdoor areas
Remove bulk waste and ensure safe and correct disposal.
Collaborate as part of a small caretaking team to deliver efficient and reliable service.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards across all assigned areas.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety, fire safety, and building safety regulations.
Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns within communal areas.
Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and appropriately.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and residents when required.
