Full job description

Gateway is a leading property services company, offering expert solutions in property management, sales and lettings, conveyancing, mortgage advice, insurance, facilities management, surveying, and energy management.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join our busy Solicitors Enquiries Department at our office in Southend-on-Sea.

The Person

You will be a people person aligned to the Gateway brand. You will be a great communicator with a track record of delivering the best client and customer experience possible. Promoting the brand and creating new opportunities will come as second nature to you.

The Job

Producing sales information packs
Dealing with pre-contract sales enquiries in respect of any relevant sales, re-mortgages or transfer of equity
Post completion – dealing with and receipting Notice of Transfer/Charge
Updating our company case management system with new lessee details/charge details
Dealing with and creating Deed of Covenants, Certificate of Compliance and Share Certificates
Ensuring the accounts are clear prior to the release of any sales information packs and on the completion of a sale
Processing cheques and liaising with our accounts department
Scanning and filing all documentation that passes through, e.g. Notices, Land Reg docs etc.

We are looking for individuals with:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel)
Strong administrative skills
The ability to work to strict deadlines and hard a large and varied caseload
Meticulous attention detail

What You Need

Previous litigation experience is preferred

Job location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Job Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Job Salary: Competitive with an annual review
Annual leave: 23 days plus bank holidays

Pay: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
