Factory Operative

Job Purpose:

Factory workers operate machinery to manufacture different products, which can vary depending on the industry. Factory workers are responsible for a range of functions including processing, sorting, and packing the products, as well as operating the machines and monitoring the output to ensure compliance standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Precision cutting of materials
Matching the correct tools to the correct job specification
Excellent attention to detail
Ensuring accurate information is recorded on paperwork and signed by the relevant person
Handling materials with care
Checking and ensuring the quality of products produced
Correcting errors, discrepancies, or deformities
Cleaning and organising the shop floor in line with health and safety guidelines
Packing products correctly for distribution
Verifying appropriate packaging is used
Lifting up to 25kg maximum
Working efficiently and effectively to meet target schedules and deadlines
Maintaining stock levels
Performing root cause analysis and resolving problems
Identifying business improvement opportunities and providing feedback
Undertaking continuous training and development
Occasional overtime may be available to meet business needs
Cross-functional working

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30m-5:00pm, Friday 6:am-2:30pm
