About us

GrainCo Ltd operates throughout the North east of England and Scotland providing services to farmers as well as other valued customers. With Grain stores in Tyneside, Darlington, Morpeth and Teesside as well using third party stores and ports around the country.

Main Duties

To follow and implement the companies health and safety policy and procedures to insure a safe working environment for everyone.
To operate and monitor sites plant vehicles. Experience with forklifts, telehandlers, loading shovels and MEWP’s are all desirable.
Equipment maintenance on sites plant vehicles, Grain Dryers, Conveyor and elevator systems. To carry out routine proactive measures on site to minimise breakdowns and downtime.
Operating sites control panels in grain store. Must be able to understand equipment layouts and understand correct start up procedures as well as emergency procedures.
Ensure any paperwork for the day is filled in correctly and in full.
To maintain good housekeeping standards. You will be expected to carry out cleaning of equipment or around the site if needs be.

Essential

Physically able carry out the demands of the job
Working at heights is essential
To be flexible with working hours to meet the demands of business
Basic knowledge of health and safety systems

Desirable

Agricultural background
Experience operating control panels
Experience carrying out basic maintenance and repairs on equipment
Experience in a heavy plant industry or similar
Experience operating plant machines in the past, forklifts etc

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: From £12.75 per hour
