Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and versatile General Builder to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of building skills, including carpentry, roofing, masonry, plumbing, and electrical work. This role involves working on diverse projects, from new builds to refurbishment and maintenance tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong construction background to contribute to varied building projects in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Undertake carpentry tasks such as framing, fitting doors and windows, and installing fixtures
Carry out roofing repairs and installations ensuring weatherproofing standards are met
Perform construction painting to prepare surfaces for finishing
Install and repair plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances
Execute masonry work such as bricklaying, blockwork, and concrete finishing
Conduct welding tasks for structural steel or metal components as required
Assist with electrical installations and repairs in compliance with safety regulations
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently across different tasks
Fabricate custom components or modifications on-site as needed
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines
Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met

Requirements

Proven experience in general building trades such as carpentry, roofing, masonry, plumbing, welding or electrical work
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments
Knowledge of fabrication techniques relevant to construction projects
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction trades
A valid driving license is preferred for transporting materials or equipment between sites

Pay: £24,420.00-£51,396.84 per year
