About the Role
As Housing Property Manager, you'll provide operational leadership across property inspections, statutory compliance, repairs quality assurance and housing disrepair management.
You'll ensure compliance with all landlord health and safety responsibilities, including gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, water hygiene, lifts and damp and mould, while supporting our compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing's Consumer Standards and the Building Safety Act 2022.
Working closely with colleagues across Housing, Asset Management, Repairs, Legal and Customer Services, you'll oversee property performance, contractor delivery, regulatory assurance and service improvement.
A key part of the role will be leading the organisation's operational response to housing disrepair, ensuring cases are investigated promptly, remedial works are delivered efficiently, legal risks are effectively managed and lessons learned are embedded to improve services and reduce future claims.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll:
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Property Inspectors and Compliance Officers.
- Manage property inspection programmes to ensure homes remain safe and compliant.
- Oversee statutory compliance across all landlord safety workstreams.
- Lead the management of housing disrepair cases from investigation through to resolution.
- Work closely with Legal Services to provide technical evidence and minimise organisational risk.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure high standards of workmanship and customer service.
- Drive improvements in repairs quality, compliance assurance and resident satisfaction.
- Produce performance reports, compliance information and risk updates for senior managers.
- Ensure accurate property records and compliance data are maintained.
- Promote a strong culture of resident safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Liaise with external providers to coordinate and deliver services.
- Coordinate with providers to ensure effective service delivery.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with service providers.
About You
You'll be an experienced property professional with a strong background in residential property management, compliance and repairs.
You'll have experience of leading teams, managing contractor performance and delivering high-quality services for residents
You'll also bring:

Housing Property Manager – Person Specification

Purpose of the Role
The Housing Property Manager will provide operational leadership for the delivery of property inspection and statutory compliance services, ensuring the organisation meets its legal, regulatory and consumer obligations. The postholder will lead Property Inspectors and Compliance Officers to deliver safe, high-quality homes, embedding a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, transparency and resident-focused service delivery.
The role supports compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing's Consumer Standards, the Building Safety Act 2022 and all relevant landlord statutory obligations, ensuring that property risks are effectively identified, managed, reported and resolved.
Essential Qualifications
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying. Property Management or a related discipline, or significant equivalent experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, CABE or equivalent professional body.
- Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) qualification or membership
