About Us
The Rhynd Café is not your typical café. We serve restaurant-quality food in a fast-paced, vibrant environment. Everything on our menu is made fresh from scratch, using exceptional produce grown right here on our own estate or sourced from trusted local suppliers. Due to the exciting promotion of our current Head Chef, Jack Baldwin, to Executive Chef, we are now looking for a passionate, talented Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and maintain our reputation for flavours and quality that are second to none.

The Role & Work-Life Balance

⁠ ⁠The Salary: £35,000 per year, which equates to a lucrative £44,000 pro rata based on the regular 4-day schedule.
⁠ ⁠Standard Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, allowing you to have your evenings back.
⁠ ⁠Working Week: Usually a 4-day working week, giving you plenty of time to recharge.
⁠ ⁠Flexibility Required: You will very occasionally need to work a 5-day week during peak periods, or work an evening shift to help lead our popular, creative Supper Clubs and Forest Feasts.

Key Responsibilities
⁠ ⁠Lead, inspire, and manage the daily operations of the café kitchen.
⁠ ⁠Work closely with Executive Chef Jack Baldwin to maintain and elevate our high culinary standards.
⁠ ⁠Cook and present restaurant-quality dishes at a fast pace without compromising on detail.
⁠ ⁠Manage stock control, ordering, and food waste utilizing local and estate-grown produce.
⁠ ⁠Ensure strict adherence to all food hygiene, health and safety, and environmental health regulations.

What We Are Looking For
⁠ ⁠Culinary Excellence: A proven track record cooking high-quality, fresh food from scratch. Experience in a premium café, bistro, or restaurant setting is essential.
⁠ ⁠Leadership Skills: Ability to run a fast-paced kitchen smoothly, keeping the team motivated and focused on quality.
⁠ ⁠Passion for Produce: A genuine love for seasonal, local ingredients and a drive to showcase them on the plate.
⁠ ⁠Transport: A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential due to our rural location.
