Care Team Leader role- Week 1 Monday 2pm-9pm weekend 9am-5pm. Week 2 Tuesday-Friday 2pm-9pm

Designed to offer stylish, independent living with the reassurance of expert support when it’s needed, Sundew Court provides residents with beautiful homes, vibrant community spaces and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels genuinely like home.

This is a rare opportunity to join a brand new village at the very beginning to help shape its culture, build its community and lay the foundations for something exceptional. The right candidate will relish the chance to be part of something new, bringing their expertise and personality to a setting that will grow and evolve around them.

As a new village, resident care needs will initially be light, with residents living largely independently.

Personal Care & Support:

Provide support to residents in accordance with their individual care plans and needs, which may include personal care and other day-to-day tasks, always delivered with compassion, dignity, and respect for their privacy.

Support residents with medications in accordance with prescribed instructions, ensuring medication records are accurate.

Health & Wellbeing:

Provide emotional support to residents, ensuring they feel valued, respected, and cared for at all times.

Encourage residents to maintain their independence and take part in activities, promoting positive social interactions among residents, fostering a sense of community and companionship.

Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes or concerns to the Domiciliary Care Manager promptly.

Health & Safety:

Ensure operation in compliance with health and safety standards, infection control protocols, and safeguarding regulations.

Ensure the correct handling and administration of medications in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Ensure appropriate use of PPE in line with health and safety guidelines, regularly check stock levels, and promptly highlight any shortages or issues accordingly.

Team Collaboration & Communication:

Maintain strict confidentiality at all times, understanding and upholding your obligations to protect residents’ personal information and the privacy of colleagues and the organisation.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other care staff, ensuring all concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care activities, incidents, and any changes to residents’ health or condition. Ensure clock-in/out procedures and system updates are completed consistently and in a timely manner, including tagging in and out as required, to guarantee that all records are kept current and in line with expectations.

Training & Development:

Participate in continuous professional development, including mandatory training in areas such as safeguarding, manual handling, infection control, and medication management. Additionally, take a proactive approach by identifying any bespoke needs for residents and suggesting relevant training or development opportunities to ensure the highest level of care is provided.

Support junior carers and new staff in their training and development, providing guidance on best practices and care techniques (when the care side of the village is established and care team grows)

Stay up-to-date with changes in care legislation and best practices, ensuring that care delivery meets or exceeds regulatory standards.

Demonstrate an openness to participate, contribute, and support yourself and colleagues in championing specific areas of care or practice. Take initiative to enhance your skills and knowledge, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Resident & Family Support:

Build positive relationships with residents, ensuring they feel valued, respected, and supported.

Provide reassurance and support to family members when needed, keeping them informed about their loved one's care and wellbeing.

Provide respectful and compassionate support to residents and their families, ensuring they feel secure, valued, and respected in their home environment.
Listen to residents' concerns and work with the team to ensure their needs are met, while also promoting positive risk-taking.
Be open to supporting residents in making informed decisions and safely encouraging them to take controlled, manageable risks that enhance their independence and quality of life.

Essential:

Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) required or working towards

Previous experience as a Senior Carer or in a similar supervisory care role, ideally in a domiciliary care setting.

A thorough understanding of person-centred care and the ability to implement it effectively.

Knowledge of medication administration and recording procedures.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor junior staff.
Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
A compassionate, empathetic approach to care with a commitment to maintaining residents' dignity and wellbeing.
