Full job description

Edwards & Farmer Ltd are looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking Machinery Preparation & Yard Operative to join our busy team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established agricultural machinery business with a strong reputation for customer service and quality support across the agricultural sector, working within modern depot facilities, including a brand-new state-of-the-art machinery wash bay.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the yard, workshop, demonstration fleet, and machinery displays are maintained to an exceptionally high standard while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the depot.

Key Responsibilities

Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised yard and workshop environment
Preparing, cleaning and valeting new and used agricultural machinery
Preparing, cleaning, valeting and presenting new, used, and demonstration machinery to an exceptionally high standard
Ensuring all incoming used stock is thoroughly cleaned, inspected and prepared before sale or display
Supporting machinery show preparation, including detailed cleaning and presentation for customer demonstrations, open days and agricultural events
Supporting the sales, parts and service departments when required
Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times

Skills, Experience & Requirements

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of agricultural machinery would be an advantage
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and customer service skills
Experience operating forklifts or telehandlers would be advantageous (Training can be provided for the right candidate)
Full, clean UK driving licence essential
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and work flexibly

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, with additional overtime available depending on business needs. Saturday working may be required on a rota basis.
