Job Summary

MUST BE LEVEL 3 QUALIFIED

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner/Room Leader to oversee daily operations within our childcare setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with management and leadership skills to make a positive impact on young children's development while guiding a team of early childhood practitioners. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about early childhood education and childcare.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the nursery room team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth daily operations
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding regulations at all times
Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages children's curiosity and learning
Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and developmental milestones
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding their child's progress and any concerns
Organise staff rotas, monitor performance, and facilitate ongoing professional development for team members
Contribute to the overall organisation of the nursery, including maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided

Qualifications

Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
Strong management and leadership skills with previous experience leading a team
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent)
Valid driving licence is desirable for operational flexibility
Passionate about child development, safety, and creating a positive learning environment

Pay: £14.00 per hour
