Overview

Mitchells of Mansfield Ltd is a well-established and growing transport and logistics company based in Sutton-in-Ashfield. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced HGV Mechanic / Technician to join our team and help maintain our modern fleet to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Carrying out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGV vehicles and trailers

· Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and safely

· Conducting PMI (Preventative Maintenance Inspections) and MOT preparation

· Ensuring all work is completed in line with DVSA standards

· Completing job sheets and maintenance records accurately

· Supporting breakdown response when required

· Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Requirements

· Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / Technician

· Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance preferred)

· Strong knowledge of MOT standards and inspection requirements

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills

· Full UK driving licence (HGV class 1 essential)

Working Hours

· 45 hours per week

· Monday to Friday

· Typical working hours expected to be around 11:00am – 8:00pm (to be confirmed)

· Saturdays as required

Salary and benefits

· Circa £45,000 inclusive of any required Saturday working

· This is a salaried position with no additional overtime payments

· The salary reflects total expected hours and flexibility required by the business
