Full job description

Job Overview
As an Events Assistant, you will be a member of the House of St John’s Team, assisting with the setting up, coordinating, and taking down of events, functions and conferences.

This position would be on a zero hours “as required” basis. You will play an important role in maintaining a high standard of customer service for our clients and guests. You will be expected to work flexibly as directed by the Head of Operations and Wedding and Events Manager.

This position may require work in the daytime or the evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities:

Ensuring a high standard of customer service is maintained, for all our clients and customers at the House.
Meticulous attention to detail in creating an impeccable, friendly environment for all our clients and guests.
Managing events from start to finish, as directed by the Head of Operations. This includes tasks such as: greeting and welcoming guests, managing the bar, setting up and breaking down the venue, ensuring the space is tidy and safe, and locking the building at the end of the event.
Preparing meeting rooms and event spaces as required, ensuring spaces are clean and tidy before and after each function.
Administrative work for the Head of Operations and Wedding and Events Manager, as required.
Establishing and maintaining trust and confidence of those who use the service.
Providing cover during periods of absence.
Supporting the team to continually develop and expand the service.
Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the post, as required by the Head of Operations and Wedding and Events Manager.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

Relevant customer service experience is desirable.
Reliability and honesty.
Open friendly style of communication.
Ability to work flexibly to accommodate the needs of the House.
Time management and prioritisation skills.
