Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a professional and personable Night Porter/Receptionist to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk during evening hours, providing exceptional guest services and maintaining a welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and previous experience within hospitality or hotel settings. Multilingual abilities and strong phone etiquette are highly desirable to assist our diverse clientele effectively.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and during their stay, ensuring a positive experience.
Manage guest check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.
Handle all guest enquiries with professionalism, providing information about hotel services and local attractions.
Maintain the security of the premises by monitoring access points and conducting regular patrols.
Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints, or emergencies, escalating issues when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of guest bookings, payments, and other relevant documentation.
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and welcoming throughout your shift.
Utilise multilingual skills to assist international guests effectively.
Adhere to hotel policies regarding confidentiality, safety, and guest privacy.

Experience

Previous experience in hospitality or hotel reception roles is preferred.
Strong knowledge of guest services principles and hotel operations.
Proficiency in multiple languages (bilingual or multilingual) is advantageous.
Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally over the phone.
Familiarity with hospitality management systems or booking software is beneficial.
Experience working night shifts in a customer-facing environment is desirable but not essential.
