The Data and Insights Service plays a critical role within Bath Spa University in relation to the management and governance of data, the provision of strategic insight and the delivery of statutory reporting. The department consists of three interlinked teams which work closely together: Data and Insights, Statutory Reporting and Data Quality.
Reporting to the Head of Data Quality, the Data & Insights Project Coordinator will undertake and facilitate small to medium-scale projects to enhance the quality, consistency and impact of student and course record data.
Working with colleagues across the University, you will focus on data process improvement initiatives which will include facilitating the development of automation and data validation within day-to-day processes and student record system tools.
The focus of the day-to-day work will vary – ranging from identifying small process improvements for a specific type of student record, to pulling together requirements from a wide range of teams to inform and deliver larger initiatives. Every task will involve collaboration with colleagues to solve problems that enable the University to support the student experience.

Experience of working on and facilitating a range of small/medium sized projects at the business/operational level
- Knowledge and understanding of the student journey within the higher education sector
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective working relationships across teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve challenges
- Experience of working to improve data quality and related processes.
- Confident with data processes with an attention to detail and ability to communicate findings clearly both orally and in writing.
- Experience of using the SITS Client student records database
- Project management experience
- Experience of ensuring data is consistent with internal protocols or those of a regulatory body.

Salary Grade - Starting from £ 33,951 rising to £ 37,694 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
- There may be occasions where working outside of normal hours may be expected, such as for the purpose of attending conferences, public events, etc.
- Hybrid working (current pattern is one day per week on campus at Newton Park).
