Ormiston Horizon Academy is seeking an experienced Attendance Officer to support our school community and improve individual student and whole school attendance. As Attendance Officer you will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance and punctuality across the school. Working closely with pupils, families, and staff, the postholder will support children and families to remove barriers to attendance, ensuring pupils are safe, engaged, and able to access learning.

Your core responsibilities:

Attendance monitoring and administration
Family support and engagement
Intervention and safeguarding
Policy and communication

You will have experience working with children, young people or families, ideally within an education, pastoral or support environment, and be passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential. As a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you will be able to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues, and support families with empathy, sensitivity and understanding.

This role requires you to be well organised, have excellent attention to detail, and feel comfortable working with data and school information systems, or be willing to learn. Above all, you will understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and maintaining a professional, supportive approach in everything you do.

Ormiston Horizon Academy is an 11-16 co-educational secondary academy school in Chell, Stoke-on-Trent, our outstanding building and expansive site allows us to offer an education with a difference for our students.
